Easy Cheddar Rolls

hangryeconomist.com

These easy beer cheddar rolls come together quickly, require no yeast or kneading, and taste amazing warm and slathered with butter. They taste similar to Red Lobster cheddar biscuits but in bread form. They're salty, cheesy, wheaty, and delicious.

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Step 2

Add flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt to a large mixing bowl and mix to combine. Then add the shredded cheese.

Step 3

Add the beer and water to the flour mixture and mix until everything is combined. The dough should be thick and sticky.

Pro Tip

We recommend using a Belgium-style wheat  beer (Blue Moon or Allagash White) or a pilsner.

Step 4

Scoop the mixture into a greased muffin tin and bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown

Step 5

Add butter, chives, and garlic to a small bowl or ramekin and microwave 30-45 seconds until the butter is melted. Brush onto rolls.

Step 6

Enjoy warm with extra butter and a sprinkle of finishing salt.

Q: How do I reheat these rolls?

A: We air fry ours for 3 minutes at 390°F. You could also pop them into the microwave for about 30 seconds or until warm.

Q: What are beer rolls?

A: They're just what they sound like-rolls made with beer! The beer and baking soda help the rolls rise, so no yeast is needed.
