Description

This iced lavender matcha latte is my favorite spring drink to make at home. It's similar to the new Starbucks Lavender Oatmilk Latte, but without the cold foam. It's the perfect easy matcha drink.

Ingredients

Scale

1 teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha (see note)

1 tablespoon lavender syrup

3 tablespoons hot water

1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Sift matcha through a matcha sifter or a fine-mesh strainer to remove any large clumps (if you don't have a sifter, just break up any large clumps with a spoon).
  2. Add the matcha, lavender syrup, and hot water to a matcha bowl and vigorously whisk with a bamboo matcha whisk in an "M" formation for about 30 seconds. If you don't have a matcha bowl or whisk, put the mixture into a jar with a lid and shake vigorously until well-combined.
  3. Add ice and milk to a tall glass, then pour the matcha over the top and serve!

Notes

See "Ingredient Notes" section above for more information on what kind of matcha to buy, where to find lavender syrup, and what kind of milk we typically use.
