Description

We rub this Traeger salmon with a variety of different spices and fresh dill, then grill it on the Traeger for about 20 minutes. It's topped with butter and lemon juice and it's our favorite never-fail salmon recipe.

Ingredients

Units Scale

2.5- 3 pounds skinless salmon (we use an entire fillet, but cut fillets work as well) (see note 1)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon celery salt

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried dill

1 teaspoon sweet paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne

1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped

Juice of 1 lime or lemon

1 tablespoon butter, cut into 3-4 little squares

Instructions

  1. Preheat your Traeger to 400°F.
  2. Create an aluminum foil boat (see note 2) and place the salmon fillet inside. Coat the salmon with the oil.
  3. Add the dried spices to a small bowl and mix to combine, then sprinkle them onto the top side of the salmon. Then sprinkle with the fresh dill. Place the aluminum foil boat directly onto the Traeger. A whole salmon fillet cooking on a Traeger. It's topped with a variety of spices and fresh dill.
  4. Cook the salmon for 5 minutes, then top with the butter and lemon or lime juice and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature is 145°F (the exact time will depend on the size of your salmon). Notes

  1. You can use skin-on salmon if you prefer. Follow the same instructions, but place the salmon skin-side down on the Traeger.
  2. To make an aluminum foil boat, layer 2-3 pieces of aluminum foil, then fold up the edges so liquid can't escape.
