We rub this Traeger salmon with a variety of different spices and fresh dill, then grill it on the Traeger for about 20 minutes. It's topped with butter and lemon juice and it's our favorite never-fail salmon recipe.

About this Recipe
In our house we call this our "Tom salmon," because it's roughly based on a recipe that Michael's Uncle Tom developed and makes for us when we visit. We started making it at home with a Cape Cod-style seafood seasoning that we get from a local grocery store, then developed this recipe so everyone can make it.
This salmon pairs perfectly with sautéed veggies, salad, rice, pasta, or whatever else you can think of. It's the perfect weekday protein because it comes together quickly and goes with everything.

Traeger Side Pairings
Key Ingredients and Substitutions

Salmon: We get one big skinless fillet, but smaller fillets work, as does skin-on salmon. If you get skin-on salmon, you'll place the salmon skin-side down on the Traeger.
Lemon or lime juice: Use fresh lemon or lime juice. We've used lemons and limes in this recipe and both work well (we originally made this with lemon juice, but one day we didn't have a lemon and used a lime instead and it was delicious!).
Oil: We use avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil.
Fresh dill: Fresh dill is a must in this recipe! Don't substitute dried dill because it's included in the dried seasonings below anyway. The fresh dill really adds something extra!
Dried seasonings: celery salt, parsley, dill, sweet paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, ground cayenne, and mustard powder. You can also substitute a pre-made seafood seasoning like this one.

📖 Recipe
Traeger Salmon with Dill
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 5-6 servings 1x
Description
We rub this Traeger salmon with a variety of different spices and fresh dill, then grill it on the Traeger for about 20 minutes. It's topped with butter and lemon juice and it's our favorite never-fail salmon recipe.
Ingredients
2.5- 3 pounds skinless salmon (we use an entire fillet, but cut fillets work as well) (see note 1)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon celery salt
2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne
½ teaspoon mustard powder
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
Juice of 1 lime or lemon
1 tablespoon butter, cut into 3-4 little squares
Instructions
- Preheat your Traeger to 400°F.
- Create an aluminum foil boat (see note 2) and place the salmon fillet inside. Coat the salmon with the oil.
- Add the dried spices to a small bowl and mix to combine, then sprinkle them onto the top side of the salmon. Then sprinkle with the fresh dill. Place the aluminum foil boat directly onto the Traeger.

- Cook the salmon for 5 minutes, then top with the butter and lemon or lime juice and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature is 145°F (the exact time will depend on the size of your salmon).

Notes
- You can use skin-on salmon if you prefer. Follow the same instructions, but place the salmon skin-side down on the Traeger.
- To make an aluminum foil boat, layer 2-3 pieces of aluminum foil, then fold up the edges so liquid can't escape.
