Why We Love This Teriyaki Chicken
- It's fast: We throw our chicken into the marinade before we go to bed, then cook it right before dinner. It only takes about 12 minutes in the air fryer, and you can prepare your preferred sides while it's cooking!
- It's foolproof: This chicken comes out of the air fryer perfectly moist and flavorful every time.
- It's versatile: We love serving this teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies, but it goes perfectly on a salad or in a wrap too.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
Teriyaki Sauce: You can use any brand of teriyaki sauce. Our local grocery store carries Kikkoman teriyaki sauce, which works great. We also love Primal Kitchen teriyaki sauce for a healthier alternative. You could also make your own.
Chicken breast tenderloins: We love using chicken breast tenderloins for this recipe because they tend to be cheaper than whole breasts and they're easy to cut. You can substitute chicken breasts (or even thighs).
Frank's RedHot Sauce: We love Frank's hot sauce in this recipe to add a subtle kick, but you could omit it or substitute sriracha or your favorite kind of hot sauce.
Garlic: Fresh garlic works best, but you can substitute jarred minced garlic.

Serving Ideas
Here are some of ways we love to serve this air fryer teriyaki chicken for a quick weeknight dinner:
- With quick homemade yum yum sauce: We love dipping this chicken in yum yum sauce. We love this one that Grilled Cheese Social serves with her hibachi chicken (which is also very good!).
- Over a salad: For a quick shortcut, I love buying pre-made Asian-inspired salad mixes from the grocery store and throwing this chicken over them. The Taylor Farms Asian Chopped Salad is a favorite.
- With rice and veggies: I love this chicken in a rice bowl topped with green onions and sesame seeds and served with sautéed green beans, broccoli, peppers, or peas.
- In a wrap: This chicken also tastes great in a wrap or on a sandwich, similar to our air fryer chicken wrap.
