This pear gin cocktail will put you in the holiday spirit. It's made with sweet pear juice, spicy ginger ale, gin, and an easy homemade honey simple syrup. It's festive, fun, and so so tasty.

Two pear gin cocktails in front of a Christmas tree.

Mollie and I made these pear gin cocktails for Thanksgiving, and they were a hit. Even the non-alcohol drinkers in the family loved them. They're garnished with cranberries and rosemary and look so festive and fancy. They really feel like something special.

Looking for other fun holiday drinks? Try our apple cider old fashioned, blackberry basil bourbon smash, or holiday rum punch.

    Ingredients

    • Gin- Use whatever gin is your favorite. We picked up some Restless Spirits Builders Botanical Gin last time we were in Kansas City visiting family and we are obsessed.
    • Lemon
    • Pear juice
    • Honey
    • Ginger ale
    • Black pepper
    • Cinnamon
    • Rosemary and fresh cranberries for garnish

    See recipe card for amounts.

    Instructions

Step 1: Combine hot water and honey in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and mix until the honey is dissolved.

Step 2: Add ice, lemon juice, pear juice, gin, black pepper, and cinnamon to the cocktail shaker. Then cover the shaker and shake vigorously several times.

Step 3: Add a sprig of rosemary and a couple of fresh cranberries to the bottom of two cocktail glasses (we use coupe cocktail glasses). To release some of the rosemary flavor, twist the sprigs a few times before placing them in the glasses.

Step 4: Divide the cocktail mixture between the two glasses (we filter out the ice). Then top each glass with ginger ale. Enjoy immediately!

    Frequently asked questions

    What is gin?

Gin is similar to vodka, but it's distilled with juniper berries, which gives it a distinct pine flavor. It's a super unique spirit and tastes great with the flavors in this cocktail.

Where can I find pear juice?

We buy ours at our local grocery store in the juice aisle. It's usually in a glass bottle and sold next to cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, etc.

Can I make this into a mocktail?

Yes! Omit the gin and double the ginger ale.

I am not usually a fan of alcohol, (or pears for that matter) but I loved this drink so much so that I helped myself to a few🤪 So delicious and a fun to serve for the holidays with the red and green touches!
