Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
Cream cheese: This is one of the bases for this spicy pickle dip. You can use low-fat cream cheese if that's your preference—I don't notice a huge difference.
Sour cream: This is the other base for this dip. You can substitute plain greek yogurt if you want something a little lighter. We use greek yogurt often.
Sharp cheddar cheese: We use cheap sharp cheddar cheese in this recipe, but you could instead opt for a white English cheddar or something else a little nicer. If you don't like sharp cheddar, mild cheddar works as well.
Dill pickles: You'll dice these, so any pickle shape/size works. We use kosher dill pickles because they are pickled in garlic and have a lot more flavor than regular dill pickles.
Bacon: You can substitute turkey bacon if you want a lighter option.
Pickled jalapeños: Some grocery stores sell diced pickled jalapeños (in a jar in the pickle section). We buy those to skip a prep step.
Hidden Valley Ranch Fiesta Dip Mix: You can use the regular ranch dip mix, but the Fiesta flavor adds a little extra kick and flavor.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Add cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream, dill pickles, bacon, pickled jalapeños, and dip mix to a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer on low or a spoon to mix until everything is combined.
Step 2: Serve with crackers, chips, or veggies and enjoy!

Frequently asked questions
You can! We've made this dip with regular ranch dip mix and fiesta ranch dip mix. They're both good. We think the fiesta adds something special, but if you'd rather stick with regular ranch, then go for it.
We've had multiple non pickle lovers say that they love this dip. Michael is one of them! Give it a try.
